City Power Johannesburg, in partnership with the National Treasury, is inviting applications from suitably qualified unemployed graduates for the 2026 Infrastructure Skills Development Grant (ISDG) Graduate Programme.
About the ISDG “Road to Professionalisation” Programme
The ISDG Graduate Programme is a structured three-year professional development initiative designed to guide young engineering graduates toward professional registration.
Fully funded by the National Treasury, the programme aims to strengthen municipal infrastructure capacity while equipping graduates with practical experience in a real-world engineering environment.

Minimum Qualification
Applicants must hold:
- BSc/BEng (NQF Level 7) in Electrical Engineering
- A qualification aligned with professional registration requirements of the relevant statutory council
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be suitably qualified and currently unemployed
- Be South African citizens with a valid SA ID
- Be under the age of 35
- Meet academic requirements for professional registration
- Have no prior formal employment in the relevant field
A valid Code 08 driver’s licence will be advantageous.
Appointments will be made in accordance with the Employment Equity Act, with preference given to candidates from designated groups.
