Programme Overview
The SAB Apprentice – Electrical Programme aims to:
- Train learners to become qualified Electrical Artisans
- Provide hands-on experience in industrial electrical systems
- Develop skills in maintenance, troubleshooting, and process optimisation
Apprentices will gain exposure to advanced plant operations and the inner workings of a leading manufacturing environment, building a solid foundation for a career in the electrical trade.
Key Responsibilities
Participants in the programme will:
- Complete the full 3–4-year apprenticeship
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment
- Comply with safety, health, and environmental standards
- Assist with maintenance and repair of plant equipment
- Diagnose and fix breakdowns in machinery
- Improve and optimise plant systems and processes
- Develop technical competence in electrical systems
Minimum Requirements
To qualify, applicants must have:
- Grade 12 with Mathematics and Physical Science
- National Technical Certificate (N3) in Electrical or related field
- N4–N6 Electrical Engineering qualification is advantageous
