About the Sasria Bursary Scheme

Sasria is South Africa’s state-owned specialist insurer, providing cover for special risks such as civil unrest, riots, strikes, and public disorder — risks typically excluded from conventional insurance policies.

Through its corporate social investment programme, Sasria funds tertiary education for academically talented students who face financial barriers to accessing university.

Who Can Apply?

Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:

South African citizen with a valid SA ID
Aged between 16 and 20 years
Completed Grade 12 (Matric)
Minimum average of 70% in Matric
Mathematics (not Mathematical Literacy) is compulsory
Household income below R600,000 per annum
Not related to a current Sasria employee

Failure to meet any requirement will result in disqualification.

Studies must be undertaken at a recognised South African university or university of technology.
