Minimum Requirements

Applicants must:

Be a South African citizen
Be proficient in at least two official languages (one must be English)
Have no criminal record or pending cases
Successfully undergo vetting, security screening, and fingerprint verification
Have completed Grade 10 (NQF Level 3)
Be registered with PSIRA
Hold a Grade C Security Certificate or higher
Not be declared unfit to possess a firearm
Be willing to undergo and maintain firearm competency
Be willing to work shifts and extended hours

Relevant security-related courses
Valid driver’s licence

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Security Officers will be responsible for:

Access control in line with Act 53 of 1985
Positive identification of employees, visitors, and contractors
Registering and searching all persons entering premises
Issuing and controlling visitor access cards
Vehicle and equipment access control
Guarding SAPS vehicles and equipment
Conducting patrols of buildings and fenced areas
Monitoring security systems and reporting faults
Supervising cleaners and maintenance staff (security-related)
Reporting security risks and incidents to senior personnel
