Who Can Apply?

You qualify if you are:

  • A second-year university or TVET student
  • OR an unemployed matriculant

  • Maths Level 3 OR
  • Maths Literacy OR
  • Technical Maths Level 4+

Graduates are not required to have Maths.

You are NOT eligible if you:

  • Are currently employed
  • Receive a stipend (learnership/internship)
  • Worked as an EA between 2022–2024
  • Are an educator or education assistant

What Does an Examination Assistant Do?

EAs support the exam process by:

  • Handling and sorting exam scripts
  • Assisting marking centre administration
  • Verifying marks and totals
  • Organising documents
  • Supporting data capturing teams

These roles help ensure fair and accurate exam results nationwide.

Working Conditions You Must Know

This is intensive work, so be prepared:

  • 08:00 – 20:00 daily
  • Monday to Sunday (including holidays)
  • 10 hours per day
  • No overtime pay
  • No leave during marking period
  • No transport or accommodation
