Job Purpose

The successful candidate will provide clerical and administrative support to the Sub-Directorate responsible for:

  • Internships
  • Bursaries
  • Learnerships

This role plays a key part in ensuring smooth implementation of youth development and HRD programmes.

Key Responsibilities

The appointed candidate will:

  • Support the implementation of Internship and Learnership programmes
  • Assist with bursary advertisement and awarding processes
  • Support bursary contract management and payment processes
  • Assist with Recognition of Improved Qualifications (RIQ) applications
  • Maintain databases and update records
  • Provide general clerical and administrative support within the HRD component

  • Senior Certificate (Grade 12 or equivalent qualification)

Knowledge & Competencies Required

Knowledge of:

  • Public Service Amendment Act
  • Public Service Regulations
  • Labour Relations Act
  • Skills Development Act
  • SAQA Act
  • National Skills Development Strategy
  • Relevant SETA frameworks
  • HRD legislation and policies

Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Planning and organisation
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Analytical and conceptual skills
  • Experience in HRD, bursary administration, or internship/learnership environments (advantageous)

Selection Process

Shortlisted candidates will be required to:

  • Attend an interview

  • Complete two pre-entry assessments:
    • A practical competency exercise
    • An integrity (ethical conduct) assessment
