South African Airways Technical (SAAT) is inviting young, motivated South African citizens to apply for its 2026 Technical Apprenticeship / Learnership Programme. This programme is designed for individuals who want to build a long-term career in aircraft maintenance and aviation technical trades.

About the Programme

The SAAT Apprenticeship / Learnership Programme provides structured theoretical and practical training in one of SAAT’s approved aviation trades. Job Purpose

To train young South Africans in approved aviation technical trades through a combination of:

Qualifications & Experience

Applicants must meet one of the following educational requirements:

Option 1: Matric (Grade 12)

• Pure Mathematics: 50% or higher, OR
• Physical Science: 50% or higher
• English: Symbol required

Option 2: N3 Certificate

• Mathematics: 50% pass
• Engineering Science: 50% pass

Knowledge & Skills

Applicants should demonstrate:

• Ability to read and write in English (essential)
• Basic understanding of technical or mechanical concepts (advantageous)
• Ability to follow instructions accurately
• Good verbal and written communication skills
