About the Internship

The Intern – Nutrition Plant Engineering will support day-to-day coordination between Service Sales and Service Execution teams. The role focuses on CRM administration, quotation support, installed base (I-base) data management, and cross-functional coordination, helping improve customer responsiveness and operational efficiency.

This internship offers hands-on exposure to commercial operations within a technical engineering environment, making it a strong stepping stone into engineering services, supply chain, or business roles.

Key Responsibilities

1. CRM Lead & Opportunity Support

  • Capture, qualify, and load leads into the CRM system
  • Maintain pipeline hygiene (stages, activities, probabilities, close reasons)
  • Support lead handovers between Service Sales and Execution teams
  • Run CRM reports (pipeline, lead ageing, activity tracking)
  • Schedule and log customer and internal follow-ups

2. Quotation & Commercial Support (Excel-Based)

  • Prepare quotation packs using approved templates
  • Consolidate technical inputs into commercial formats
  • Assist with internal approval documentation (costs, margins, logistics)
  • Maintain a detailed quote tracker
  • Ensure proper document storage and version control

3. I-base & Master Data Administration

  • Update installed base information (equipment, serial numbers, sites)
  • Link installed base data to CRM opportunities
  • Support data cleansing and standardisation initiatives

4. Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Liaise with Service Sales, Execution, Planning, Finance, Parts & Supply Chain
  • Track supplier and subcontractor quotations
  • Coordinate internal meetings and action follow-ups

5. Customer & Administrative Support

  • Assist with customer communication under supervision
  • Manage RFQs, NDAs, and onboarding documentation
  • Prepare basic customer-ready documents
  • Maintain trackers, registers, and shared folders

6. Continuous Improvement

  • Identify repetitive admin tasks and suggest improvements
  • Support basic process documentation
  • Contribute to data quality and reporting enhancements

Requirements & Qualifications

To qualify for this internship, candidates must meet the following:

  • Matric (Grade 12) completed
  • Diploma or Degree (completed or in progress) in:
    • Business
    • Engineering
    • Supply Chain
    • Finance
    • Or a related field (advantageous)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word
  • CRM system exposure (advantageous)
  • Strong attention to detail and admin discipline
  • Professional, reliable, and able to handle confidential information
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple deadlines
