Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must have one of the following qualifications:
Option 1: Grade 12
With:
- Mathematics
- Engineering Science
- English Language
- Mechanical Fitter Trade Theory
OR
Option 2: N3 Certificate
With:
- N3 Mathematics
- N3 Engineering Science
- N3 Engineering Drawing
- N3 Mechanical Fitter Trade Theory
OR
Option 3: NCV Qualification
- Engineering National Certificate (Vocational)
- NCV NQF Level 4 (Mechanical Trade Theory)
Experience
- No prior work experience required
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Successful apprentices will be required to:
- Attend theoretical classes at an accredited training provider
- Obtain on-site plant training
- Complete the full Mechanical Fitter trade curriculum
- Adhere to training schedules and requirements as prescribed by CHIETA
