The Breede Valley Municipality invites unemployed South African youth to apply for the Peace Officer and Traffic Warden Training Programme 2026.
This accredited programme is presented by the Directorate: Community Services – Law Enforcement Division, in partnership with the Western Cape Department of Police Oversight and Community Safety.

The training programme aims to strengthen law enforcement capacity within the Breede Valley Municipal Area by equipping successful candidates with the accredited training required to perform Peace Officer and Traffic Warden duties.

Minimum Requirements
Applicants must submit certified copies (not older than 6 months) of:
✔ Grade 12 (Matric) Certificate (Statements of results NOT accepted)
✔ South African ID
✔ Valid Code B Driver’s Licence (minimum requirement)
✔ Clear Criminal Record from SAPS or proof of application
✔ Comprehensive CV (does not need certification)
⚠ Any criminal record will result in automatic disqualification.

- Be between 20 and 35 years old
- Be physically fit and medically healthy
- Reside within the Breede Valley Municipal Area (Affidavit required)
- Communicate in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape
- Have own transport to and from the training facility

- Diagnostic written test
- Physical fitness test
- Random drug testing
- Driving test

Important Disqualification Criteria
Applicants will be disqualified for:
- Missing documentation
- Fraudulent documents
- Canvassing Councillors or Municipal officials
- Failure to follow instructions
Shortlisted candidates will undergo screening and vetting.
