Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 plus National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in:
    • Public Management
    • Public Administration
    • Office Administration
    • Business Administration
    • General Management or equivalent
  • Basic understanding of public service policies:
    • Batho Pele Principles
    • Patients’ Rights Charter
    • Occupational Health and Safety
    • National Core Standards
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Good customer care and telephone etiquette
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of HIS/SAP systems will be an advantage
  • High level of confidentiality and professionalism

Key Responsibilities

  • Register and classify patients accurately
  • File, store, retrieve, and trace patient records
  • Capture daily patient statistics
  • Book patients and manage missing files
  • Maintain downtime registers and track file movement
  • Ensure safe storage and disposal of documents in line with the National Archives Act
  • Rotate between patient administration sections when required
  • Perform additional duties assigned by the Supervisor
  • Participate in the Performance Management Development System (PMDS)
