About the Role

The internship has been created to strengthen the Finance function, with a strong focus on procurement compliance, supplier verification, and accurate reporting in preparation for B-BBEE measurement and verification.

The successful candidate will support both the Finance and B-BBEE teams by managing procurement data, tracking supplier compliance, and assisting with spend analysis. This role offers valuable exposure to Enterprise and Supplier Development (ESD), preferential procurement calculations, and audit-ready record keeping aligned with the B-BBEE Codes of Good Practice.

Minimum Requirements

  • BCom degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (essential)
  • Exposure to procurement, creditors, or compliance functions (advantageous)
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Ability to work with financial data and large supplier databases
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect, verify, and maintain valid B-BBEE certificates and supplier affidavits
  • Capture and update supplier information in procurement tracking tools
  • Classify suppliers in line with B-BBEE requirements
  • Reconcile supplier spend between the general ledger and procurement schedules
  • Identify expired or non-compliant documentation and follow up with suppliers
  • Assist with recognised spend calculations according to B-BBEE rules
  • Maintain organised electronic audit files for verification readiness
  • Provide administrative support during the B-BBEE verification process
  • Support Finance with inclusion/exclusion spend analysis
