Internship Programme Overview
- Open to South African youth aged 35 or younger
- Preference for local residents, per the National Employment Equity Act
- Applicants for posts below Task Grade 13 must attach a Preferred Employment Opportunity Form, signed by a Ward Councillor (available from KDM HR)
- Must not have previously participated in an internship programme
Available Internship Opportunities
1. Community Halls Administration
Business Unit: Community Services & Public Amenities
Requirements:
- Grade 12 (NQF Level 4)
- National Diploma/Degree in Public Administration / Public Management (NQF Level 6/7)
- Age ≤ 35, first-time interns only
Duties / Training:
- Assist with daily operations in the Community Halls Section
- Tasks may include standing, walking, bending, carrying, pushing trolleys
- Gain hands-on administrative & operational experience
2. Waste Management
Requirements:
- Grade 12 (NQF Level 4)
- Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma in Waste Management / Environmental Management
- Age ≤ 35, first-time interns only
3. Beach Amenities
Requirements:
- Grade 12 (NQF Level 4)
- Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma in Environmental Management / Horticulture
- Age ≤ 35, first-time interns only
