Programme Purpose

This structured 6-month programme is designed to:

  • Develop technical and operational skills
  • Provide hands-on workplace experience
  • Strengthen safety and production knowledge
  • Prepare graduates for entry-level operator roles

Successful participants will be deemed competent for entry-level operational positions within the organisation.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • A Diploma in Chemical Engineering and/or Pulp & Paper Technology
  • A minimum average of 60%
  • A requirement for P1 & P2 practical experience to complete their qualification
  • Completed P1 & P2 in a heavy industry environment (advantageous)
  • A valid South African driver’s licence

Key Responsibilities During the Programme

Participants will:

  • Develop SAP and Microsoft system skills
  • Gain chemical safety knowledge
  • Perform housekeeping and pre-start checks
  • Assist with plant start-ups and shutdowns
  • Conduct routine equipment inspections
  • Follow safety and operational procedures
  • Perform basic troubleshooting
  • Support production teams with equipment performance

  • Optimise entry-level process operations
  • Maintain safety and quality standards
  • Complete operational reports and checklists
