About the Traxtion Apprenticeship Programme 2026
Traxtion is recruiting Diesel Electrical Fitter Apprentices to train at its Rail Services Hub Training Centre in Rosslyn, Pretoria.
This apprenticeship:
- Runs for three years
- Includes structured technical and workplace training
- Leads to assessment through the Quality Council for Trades and Occupations (QCTO)
- Qualifies you as a Diesel Electrical Fitter (Artisan) upon successful completion

Available Apprenticeship Fields
The programme focuses on training in:
- Diesel
- Electrical
- Fitter
Selected candidates will receive both theoretical instruction and practical workplace exposure in diesel electrical fitting.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Matric with Mathematics, Physical Science, and English
- N2 qualification in related trade subjects
- Preferably aged 18–25 years
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English
Advantageous Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in:
- Mechanical Engineering
- Technical Engineering
- Diesel Fitting
- Electrical Fitting
- Previous experience in rail or transport industries
- Basic knowledge of MS Office (Excel and Word)
- Understanding of mechanical parts and systems
