What You Will Learn in the Programme
The Battery Energy Storage programme is designed to prepare learners for real-world work in the renewable energy industry.
Participants will gain both technical installation skills and basic business knowledge to support employment or entrepreneurship.

- Mount domestic Battery Energy Storage DC systems and solar panels
- Maintain and service Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
- Diagnose and troubleshoot system faults
- Remove and replace faulty electrical components

- Apply basic business skills to start small energy installation services

Minimum Entry Requirements
Applicants must meet one of the following qualifications:
✔ Electrical Infrastructure Construction (EIC) Level 4
- Minimum 75% pass in Electrical Systems and Construction
- Minimum 75% pass in Electrical Principles and Practice
OR
✔ Electrical Engineering N6 qualification
- Minimum 65% in Electrotechnics
Additional requirements:
- Must previously have studied at Ehlanzeni TVET College
- Must be between 18 and 35 years old
- Must be currently unemployed
- Must not have previously participated in a SETA programme
