Two internship positions are available, based at ActionAid’s Global Secretariat hubs in Johannesburg and Nairobi.
Programme Overview
Position: Finance Intern (2 Positions)
Location: Johannesburg & Nairobi (Global Secretariat Hubs)
Contract Duration: 6 Months

This internship provides structured mentorship, practical training, and meaningful exposure to multi-country finance operations.
What You’ll Gain Exposure To
Interns will support the global finance function and gain experience in:
- Financial reporting and accounting operations
- Budgeting and forecasting processes

- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Audit preparation and coordination

Key Responsibilities
Payments & Ledger Support
- Assist with processing multi-geographical payments
- Support payroll postings
- Maintain finance system data
- Contribute to month-end and year-end closure
Audit Support
- Prepare audit files and documentation
- Assist during internal and external audits
- Respond to audit queries
- Track management letter actions
Reconciliations & Credit Card Management
- Process credit card reconciliations
- Follow up on outstanding items
- Support balance sheet reconciliations
- Clear reconciliation variances

Minimum Requirements
- Degree in Finance or Accounting
- Basic understanding of accounting principles (IFRS or local GAAP advantageous)
