About CIPC

The Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC) operates under the Department of Trade, Industry and Competition (dtic).
CIPC plays a critical role in protecting intellectual property rights, regulating companies, and enforcing compliance in South Africa.

This internship forms part of a national graduate development initiative approved by Cabinet, aimed at equipping young graduates with practical public-sector experience.

Who Can Apply?

This internship is open to young South African graduates who meet the following criteria:

  • South African citizens 🇿🇦
  • Unemployed graduates with a completed diploma or degree
  • No prior work experience
  • Have never participated in an internship programme before
  • Aged 18–35 years

Internship Duration & Stipend

  • Duration: 24 months
  • Stipend: R12,000 per month
  • Successful candidates must sign a Graduate Internship Programme Agreement with CIPC

Minimum Qualification Requirements

Applicants must have completed one of the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Commerce (BCom)
  • National Diploma in Business Management
  • National Diploma in International Trade
  • National Diploma in Criminology
  • National Diploma in Information Technology
  • National Diploma in Marketing
  • National Diploma in Supply Chain Management

📌 Foreign qualifications must be evaluated by SAQA before applying.
