Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Minimum Grade 10 / equivalent
- Basic reading and writing skills
- Ability to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Problem-solving skills
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Collecting soiled linen from wards, sorting, counting, recording, and packing into linen bags
- Receiving linen from Dunswart laundry, counting, recording, and shelving
- Distributing clean linen to various hospital departments
- Ensuring linen rooms in wards are neatly packed and stocked
- Mending torn linen and performing minor sewing tasks
- Conducting linen inventory twice a year
- Performing all laundry duties as delegated by the Supervisor
- Maintaining hygiene and adhering to safety standards in laundry operations
