Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum Grade 10 / equivalent
  • Basic reading and writing skills
  • Ability to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Problem-solving skills

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Collecting soiled linen from wards, sorting, counting, recording, and packing into linen bags
  • Receiving linen from Dunswart laundry, counting, recording, and shelving
  • Distributing clean linen to various hospital departments
  • Ensuring linen rooms in wards are neatly packed and stocked
  • Mending torn linen and performing minor sewing tasks
  • Conducting linen inventory twice a year
  • Performing all laundry duties as delegated by the Supervisor
  • Maintaining hygiene and adhering to safety standards in laundry operations
