About the Diesel Mechanic Apprenticeship
As an apprentice, you will:
- Work in a real commercial vehicle workshop
- Diagnose, service, and repair heavy vehicles
- Learn directly from qualified diesel technicians
- Gain experience toward becoming a certified diesel mechanic
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Repairs
- Perform repairs under supervision
- Meet DTSA performance standards
- Ensure all work is authorised before starting
Customer Service
- Handle customer vehicles with care
- Maintain DTSA quality standards
- Communicate delays to Foreman or Service Advisor
Administration & Cost Control
- Complete job cards and document hours/materials
- Follow warranty and dealer standards
- Minimise material wastage
Housekeeping & Safety
- Use correct tools and equipment
- Keep work bay clean and safe
- Comply with SHE regulations
Personal Development
- Attend on-the-job and off-the-job training
- Submit training portfolios on time

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements
Applicants must have one of the following:
- Grade 12 with Mathematics, Science, and English
- Technical Matric
- N2 in Mechanical Engineering
- N2 in Diesel Motor Mechanics
