Minimum Entry Requirements
Applicants must meet one of the following:
Option 1: Matric
- Mathematics (NOT Mathematical Literacy)
- Physical Science
- English
- Minimum 40% in all subjects
Option 2: N2 or Higher Qualification
Four subjects including:
- Mathematics
- Engineering Science
- Relevant trade subjects
OR
NCV Level 4
In an appropriate trade with a minimum 40% pass in all subjects.
Trade-Specific Subject Requirements
Each trade requires relevant theory subjects, for example:
- Boilermaker: Platers/Welders Theory, Structural & Steelwork Drawings
- Electrician: Electrical Trade Theory, Industrial Electronics
- Diesel Mechanic: Diesel or Motor Trade Theory, Engineering Drawings
- Mechanical Fitter: Fitting Trade Theory, Engineering Drawings
- Instrument Mechanician: Instrument Trade Theory, Industrial Electronics
- Auto Electrician: Motor Electrical Trade Theory
- Millwright: Electrical and Fitting Trade Theories
