The South African State Theatre is inviting unemployed South African graduates to apply for its 2026 Internship Programme.

This 12-month programme offers practical exposure in media, production, and performing arts, along with a monthly stipend of R6,270, making it an excellent launchpad for creative careers.

Available Internship Positions

1. Graphic Designer Internship ×1

  • Department: SAST TV
  • Reports To: Associate Producer
  • Duration: 12 months
  • Requirements:
    • National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Graphic Design or related field
    • 0–1 year relevant experience
    • Portfolio (PDF or link)

2. Producer Internship ×1

  • Department: SAST TV
  • Reports To: Associate Producer
  • Duration: 12 months
  • Requirements:
    • National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Media, Film & TV Production, Performing Arts, Theatre Production, Communication, or Journalism
    • 0–1 year relevant experience

3. Sound Technician Internship ×1

  • Department: Stages
  • Reports To: Senior Production Manager
  • Duration: 12 months
  • Requirements:
    • National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Sound or related field
    • 0–2 years relevant experience

4. Videographer Internship ×2

  • Department: Stages
  • Reports To: Senior Production Manager
  • Duration: 12 months
  • Requirements:
    • National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Film and Television or equivalent
    • 0–2 years relevant experience

Minimum Requirements (All Positions)

  • National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in a relevant field
  • 0–2 years relevant experience
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
